However, please do not twist any of the information. Where I say along the lines: 'May be for car X' please make this clear in your advert. An altered statement saying: 'It is for car X' will create false facts and misinformation. If you know for certainty a jack's heritage please contact me so that I can amend the entry. Thank you.

Shelley - BMC Mini and Mini Cooper 1968> Description: The jack measures 14.5". The spigot on this jack is a 'U' with a collar as shown in the 4th photo. Top label when legible after these years reads TS TANGEYE SHELLEY ROLLAFIT MADE IN ENGLAND PATENT No. 865130. The lower label reads: IMPORTANT IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THIS JACK IS USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS. The second to last photo is taken from a 1968 Morris Mini Driver's Handbook. I have a suspicion that the final photo is also a Shelley jack. The only difference I can see is the change in design of the foot, having no step on the top edge. Any information most welcome. Applicable Vehicles: BMC Mini and Mini Cooper from 1968. Reported by one vendor to be also for the Wolseley Hornet and Riley Elf - confirmation required. Possibly Wolseley 1500 - seen in boot at Mathewsons Car Auction. See the Vehicle Jack database for other Austin/Morris/BMC/Rover Mini jacks. Jack Handle Type: As shown. Year Dates Noted:

Description: The ShelleyRollafit jack is 17" high and weighs 8.5lb. It has a round lift spigot. All 6 pictures are of the same jack before and after restoration, courtesy of Tom Aczel. Of interest is the newly made Shelley Jack label. The following is written by Tony Brown from Rougemount in the USA and is also reproduced in the King Dick database on this site and the MG Experience Forum ( http://www.mgexperience.net/phorum/read.php?71,2242859 ):
"Clausager in his ORIGINAL MGB states that the original red painted King
Dick supplied jack (AHH6538) was superseded by a stronger version also
supplied by King Dick (AHH 6538)in May of 1973. In February 1974; a
black Metallifacture jack(BHH5329)was supplied and continued until the
end of production. No mention of any jack produced by Shelley for the
MGB is given by Clausager. The Shelley jack is somewhat of an anomaly;
finding its way into both the North American and CKD Australian markets,
but being associated primarily with MK1 MGBs in both places. Examples of
the Shelley jack have been found in North American MGBs until the
British Leyland buyout in 1969 but are not reported by owners past that
date. Applicable Vehicles: It was supplied with some MGBs for the Australian and USA markets up to 1969. However, most MGBs were supplied with a similar King Dick jack and later a Metallifacture jack as discussed above. It has come to light that some Australian MGB CKD kits were also supplied with Australian-built APAC jacks. Details courtesy of Roger Taylor in Australia. For other MGB jacks see the King Dick, Metallifacture and Metallifacture (Early). It was also supplied in the toolkits of the Humber Hawk and Super Snipe - Information from a collector in New Zealand. One Ebay seller claims it was OEM for the Jaguar Mk X. Jack Handle Type: Integrated. Year Dates Noted: No dates on the jack. Value: Average price paid in 2013 = £0.99 - 1 sale Average price paid in 2014 = £20.49 - 2 sales Average price paid in 2015 = £11.53 - 3 sales Average price paid in 2016 = no sales Average price paid in 2017 = £14.00 - 2 sales Average price paid in 2019 = £37.00 - 1 sale Average price paid in 2021 = £30.99 - 2 sales

Shelley Sunbeam Alpine & Tiger Description: Shelley made at least 2 side lift jacks for the later Sunbeam Alpines and Tigers. These are very similar to a Metalifacture jack which was also supplied during production. The first jack (black - picture 1 to 5) was for the Sunbeam Alpine Mks 1 to 4 and the Tiger Mk 1; the 6th picture was for the Mk2 Tiger. The jacks have stops on the lifting arms to prevent the arm going too far into the car's bracket. The stops are either a dowel or a cut and bend. The final 2 pictures show the location of the lifting arm into the chassis and the wheel brace which doubles up as the jack winder. Photos courtesy of Michel Nury Applicable Vehicles: Sunbeam Alpine Mks 1 to 4 Sunbeam Tiger Mks 1 & 2 Jack Handle Type: Not known, either ratchet or wheel brace. Year Dates Noted: 1959 to 1967. Description: This scissor jack supplied by Shelley is for the Triumph TR4A. The winding hole is a circular plate with a hole. The saddle has 'ears' to maintain accurate location on the chassis member. The handle has a circular hook. The top photo is from the TR4A Driver's Handbook. Information courtesy of Dr. Richard Harvey. The second photo is from an unknown concours car in the USA. If the owner would like to contact me I will attribute the photo to him. Some TR4A owners have recorded Tangye Shelley as the supplier of this jack. The TR4A production was 1965 to 1967, but Shelley was not bought out by Tangye until 1969. Clearly, then, this jack must be attributed solely to Shelley. Applicable Vehicles: Triumph TR4A Jack Handle Type: As shown in photo. Year Dates Noted:
